Back in June I was staffed on a 3 week project in New Jersey, so rather than flying 5+ hours home to Seattle, I had my husband, Clark, join me in New York for a weekend.
Thursday
I took the train from New Jersey to NY on Thursday evening. After arriving at Penn station I grabbed an espresso martini and dinner at a nearby bar while I wrapped up work for the evening. Afterward, I walked down the rainy streets to catch the subway to Financial District to check-in at Moxy's (30,000 Marriott points per night, for 3 nights). At about the same time Clark boarded his red-eye flight from Seattle. Eeeek his first NY experience!!
Friday
As Friday rolled-around I worked from the eclectic lobby of our hotel. Clark landed around 7am, grabbed us some New York Bagels for breakfast, then retreated to our room for a nap while I wrapped up business for the day.
When the tourist activities finally began our first stop was the 9/11 Memorial. I had been there about 10 years ago when it was still under construction. The rest of the day was filled with a stop at Times Square, dinner, and walking around the streets of Manhattan.
